Noreia String Quartet
Noreia String Quartet’s musical expression is deeply connected to their activism and their desire to find their own path that does not necessarily conform to the tradition of the string quartet. The approach these four young women have chosen is conceptual: they select a silver lining to a topic that is important to them and use it as the basis to select pieces that not only represent a significant story but also have a profound musical impact on them.
For this tour, they have chosen the concept of Persecuted Art, where they aim to play and present composers who were either persecuted or included references to these topics in their music. This is crucial to them, as war, fascism, and social injustice is not only killing people, it’s also killing their art.
