An encounter with David Lang & Paul Hillier, moderated by Gilles Ledure

Composer David Lang will talk about composing music for voices.  In particular, he will talk about the physicality of singing, the theatricality of singing, and about how the meaning of music changes when we see a person singing it.  Unusual among composers, Lang often writes not just the music but also the texts the singers sing, and he will talk about how those two jobs - writer and composer - relate to each other. He will be joined by Paul Hillier, choirmaster of the renowned Theatre of Voices. The conversation will be moderated by Gilles Ledure, General Manager of Flagey.
