Marco Mantovani

Inspired by Francis Bacon's study of Velàzquez's portrait of Pope Innocent X, pianist Marco Mantovani presents a unique approach to the works of Bach and Holliger. He combines the Baroque dances of Bach's Partita with Holliger's 20th-century Partita, a collection of very different musical genres in the spirit of Robert Schumann. Mantovani also interweaves Schumann's Blumenstück throughout his recital, resulting in a surprising and exciting musical experience that makes us experience the complexity of all these masterpieces in a very unique way.
