For her solo performance, Anna Vinnitskaya (First Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2007) juxtaposes Schumann's Carnival Op. 9 with the Zirkustänze by contemporary composer Jörg Widmann, a great admirer of Schumann.

"These two works have interesting similarities, whether from the perspective of observation through the eyes of a child or in the proximity of the environment, where each listener can easily imagine the scene unfolding", explains Anna Vinnitskaya.
