Timeless Tunes of Kazakh Steppes
Founded in 1981, Folklore Ensemble “Sazgen Sazy” has been popularizing Kazakh music by constantly searching for new approaches, combinations of musical styles and collaborations. To mirror the rich musical heritage of Kazakhstan, each musician of “Sazgen Sazy” plays several musical instruments that range from well-known dombyra, zhetyghen, sherter, sybyzghy and saz syrnai to ancient but renovated instruments such as adyrna, sazghen, narkobyz, etc.
The artists of the ensemble deeply care about the development of their artistic skills, professionalism, virtuosity and excellent knowledge of Kazakh musical traditions. Its repertoire includes famous pieces of Kazakh music by Kurmangazy, Tattimbet, Sughur, as well as adaptations of various classical pieces to ancient Kazakh instruments. The connoisseurs and genuine music lovers recognize “Sazgen Sazy”, as the ensemble performed in Switzerland, South Korea, Japan, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, China, Austria, Greece and France.
The concert is co-organized by the Mission of Kazakhstan in Brussels, which is delighted to invite the residents of Brussels to the rare evening of Kazakh traditional music
