Leif Ove Andsnes & musicians of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra

Once again, pianist Leif Ove Andsnes and the musicians of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra join forces! After their projects around Beethoven and Mozart, they now take us to 20th-century Paris where the cross-pollination between artists creates an explosion of creativity. The utmost emotions are at the heart of this programme. While playful joy prevails in Poulenc's Piano Sextet, Leif Ove Andsnes and the soloists also perform Vierne's Piano Quintet in which the latter deals with his grief after the death of his son. Both French works are separated by Igor Stravinsky's Septet, his first steps into the world of serial composition.
