Hewitt plays Mozart
Brussels Philharmonic, Angela Hewitt & Kazushi Ono, dir.
Mozart expert Angela Hewitt brings her "Mozart Odyssey" project to Brussels for the 2025 edition of the Flagey Piano Days. Between March 2024 and December 2026, she will perform all of Mozart’s piano concertos worldwide with various orchestras and conductors. With the Brussels Philharmonic and Kazushi Ono, she will present three concertos over two evenings.
To conclude this edition of the Flagey Piano Days, Hewitt has chosen Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major: a true kaleidoscope of melodic drama and charm, full of pianistic fun and games.
Next comes a monument of heavenly grandeur, as Schubert's 9th Symphony—often referred to as "The Great"—is sometimes called. Schubert's musical legacy is a constant source of energy, with its length and structure providing a perfect canvas for the listener to lose themselves in overwhelming lyricism.
