album release: What Eludes Us (2024, Sdban Ultra)
One of Belgium’s most adventurous bands, De Beren Gieren, is releasing their seventh full album What Eludes Us (2024, Sdban Ultra). It is an ode to what escapes us and what we consciously choose to ignore. For this album, they collaborated with Norwegian producer Jørgen Træen (Jaga Jazzist), who used imperfections and disruptions as the driving force behind the skilled playing of this electro-acoustic jazz trio. The result is captivating music with compelling rhythms, clear melodies, and surprising electronics.
