Prankster and melancholic, funny and visionary, Erik Satie was one of the inspirers of the Group of Six, who left their mark on music after the First World War. When he died, we discovered his modest home, overrun with dust and mountains of letters. The man remains a mystery. Maurice Ravel said of him: “Simply, but ingeniously, Satie showed the way.”
