Childhood Memories
Chamber Music and Drawings
Kaori Furusawa, Yuya Mizuno and Işıl Bengi have come together to create a unique musical journey on the theme of Childhood Memories. They will be offering you an unprecedented experience, where music will take on its full scope to tell the story of this collective memory.
The rich and varied programme explores these memories through a variety of sounds. It begins with touching pieces for solo piano by Komitas and Fazıl Say, inspired by Armenian and Turkish traditions. The violin then joins the piano to perform rhythmic and dynamic works by Khachaturian.
The journey continues with pieces by Michio Mamiya for cello and piano, in which Japanese folklore is expressed with nostalgia and delicacy. Finally, the three musicians terminate the journey with Debussy's Trio, poetic and dreamlike, capturing all the fantasy of childhood through luminous sonorities.
To enrich this experience where music and visual art blend harmoniously: illustrator Wim Didelez will bring on stage his creations to life, and projected onto a large screen.
