Marco Beasley and The Regenc’hips
Tribute to Monteverdi
Two great interpreters of Monteverdi’s music meet to pay tribute to this Venetian composer who was born 450 years ago. Marco Beasley, the famous Neapolitan tenor, and the young Belgian conductor Nicolas Achten chose Monteverdi’s enthralling Combattimento di Tancredi et Clorinda to celebrate his birthday. This love drama ends with THE most famous death scene in the history of music and is also one of the direct forerunners of Italian opera.
