Tribute to Harry Halbreich (1931-2016)
“Harry Halbreich knew everything," composer Karl Amadeus Hartmann proclaimed at the Donaueschingen Festival in 1960. He was hardly exaggerating. For 60 years, this enfant terrible of the musical world shook dictatorships, governments and all conventions. Harry Halbreich was particularly sharp, always on alert, a hard worker and very passionate. He dedicated his entire life to the discovery and sharing of music with others.
