Quatuor Tana
For this Piknik-concert, the Quatuor Tana surprises us with a multicultural program. Although the contemporary works for string quartet by Joaquín Turina and Béla Bartók were written only two years apart, the contrast between both is extraordinary. Turina chooses to write music that owes its expressivity to lyricism, while Bartók takes it a step further in his quartet by mixing tradition, virtuosity and folklore in his music. The quartet of Baudoin de Jaer, in turn, is a nod to tradition and musical creation. Intense music, but that no doubt, fits these musicians like a glove!
