Piano for Two
Victoria Vassilenko, Sergei Redkin
Two Russian pianists in residence at the Music Chapel combine forces in this concert with music for four hands. Thanks to its apparent simplicity and uplifting melodies, Petite suite by Debussy contrasts completely his usual modernist language. Brahms’ Sonata for two keyboards has had a complicated history, in which the composer eventually preferred a quintet version of the Sonata over this version for two keyboards.
