Alexander Melnikov & Quatuor Danel
Perhaps you remember Alexander Melnikov from his fifth place in the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition of 1991. Since then, this Russian pianist has been collecting prizes from a large number of international competitions. For this performance, he joins forces with the Danel Quartet. The programme includes Robert Schumann's Piano Quintet, one of the greatest chamber music works of the 19th century, as well as the quintet by Russian composer Weinberg, the favourite composer of the Danel Quartet, who recorded his fourteen string quartets in recent years. Worth discovering!
