Flagey is devoting a major festival to the work of Arvo Pärt – and with him, a number of other composers from the Baltic states. Arvo Pärt is unparalleled in his ability to touch a nerve, for he was often deeply affected by world events. Paradise lost, that is the lament of Adam – but not for ever, not as long as there is more that unites us than what separates us.  A message that Peteris Vasks aptly conveys: Dona Nobis Pacem – grant us peace.
