Vineta Sareika & Amandine Savary

Vineta Sareika from Latvia is first violinist of the acclaimed Artemis Quartet and also shines with other, more intimate, chamber groups. With her regular pianist Amandine Savary, she surprises us with a full blown northern program. The three violin sonatas by Edvard Grieg are the perfect examples of national pathos, as was as Fratres by Baltic college Arvo Pärt with its airy arpeggio triads and intense piano chords.
