Carte blanche for Dérives

Le jour le plus court

This year, during promotion of the short film launched by the FWB, we will give carte blanche to the documentary workshop Dérives.

Dérives was founded in 1977 by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, at the service of free, engaged documentary filmmaking, including their own productions. Long before Walloon filmmakers acquired the celebrity and the accolades of today. Since that time, Studio 5 has released many documentaries produced by Dérives, including Un été avec Anton, Héros sans visage, Le 4e mur, Rwanda la vie après, Trois journées d’août 1914 and, the forthcoming release Chine 87, Les Autres. For this session of short documentaries, the workshop will treat us with four recent or new titles.

Si tu étais dans mes images (Lou Colpé)
“December 7, 2014 is the saddest day in the world, what did I film the year after that day? What did I want to remember this year? Are you in my images?” (L. Colpé)

Mademoiselle Zallinger (Prunelle Rulens)
An evening show. Behind the scenes, away from the spotlight and invisible to the audience, Miss Zallinger is the star.

Ma Fille Nora [My Daughter Nora] (Jasna Krajinovic)
Nora, 18, went to fight in Syria. Since that day in 2013 when the Syrian war invaded her home in Brussels, her mother has anxiously been living in wait.

In vivo (Caroline Bonfond)
“While my partner was pregnant, I dug into my private files. This began a journey of introspection on which I asked myself about the kind of woman I have become.” (C. Bonfond)
