Augustin Dumay’s Brahms #4
with Augustin Dumay, Lorenzo Gatto, David Kadouch, Miguel da Silva, Henri Demarquette & Louis Lortie
Unfortunately, pianist Lukáš Vondráček has cancelled his participation in the Brahms Weekend. He is replaced by the French top pianist David Kadouch. The concert programme remains the same, except for this concert where ‘The Ballads’ are replaced by one of the ‘Pieces for Piano’. We will communicate the Opus number on our website as soon as possible.
In 1853, Robert Schumann described the chamber music of Brahms as “symphonies in disguise”. There is no better way to describe the grand and boisterous Piano Quintet in which the piano, Brahms’ favourite instrument, has the central role. During this final concert of the Brahms Weekend, Augustin Dumay and his musical partners also interpret Brahms’ Pieces for Piano and the last Violin Sonata No. 3, showing us the full scope of Brahms’ inexhaustible expressive talents.
