Chassol presents ‘Ludi’

Chassol is a composer with an atypical background and equally unique composition methods. Combining documentary film and musical composition, he captures his encounters with a camera, edits the footage into visual motifs onto which he adds his own chord sequences. Chassol’s newest project, Ludi, is co-commissioned by Flagey and is a musical film inspired by the novel The Glass Bead Game by German author Hermann Hesse. It uses documentary film (shot on location around Tokyo and Paris) and animation techniques as well as special effects. Ludi is about play, time and music as experienced by human beings and animals.
