She is an impressionist amongst pianists who, like a painter with a fine brush, carefully applies the thousands of tones in a concert and combines them in a masterpiece. The concert programme of the French pianist Hélène Grimaud follows a particular idea: as a synaesthete, she recognises the relationships of sound and colour in the works of different composers. Three years after her first concert at Flagey, Grimaud returns and dives into the cosmos of the impressionists and draws connecting lines from Debussy and Satie to the Romantic sounds of Chopin and Schumann.
