Vlaams Radio Koor & Voces Intimae
The one responsible for the rediscovery of Bach himself, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, deserves a place in history, and the Flemish Radio Choir is thus pleased to showcase this unique composer.
Mendelssohn was one of the most active composers of choral music in his day. Moreover, he was a genuine pioneer in writing a great deal of a cappella music, far from the compositions for large orchestra with choir that his colleagues were writing. His liturgical music continues to speak to us today – no wonder that his Three Psalms, for example, are part of the basic repertoire of many amateur choirs.
The CD with the repertoire from this programme is available from EPR.
