Poetry and music are two art forms that seek to grasp time – elusive and abstract – in word and sound. In L’après-midi d’un faune, Debussy made way for a new era in music with his creation of a mysterious, dreamy and erotic world. With Poem of Ecstasy, Scriabin opted for a very large orchestra and eident musical excess, bursting as it is with energy and ecstasy.
