Celebrating Resilience and Respect
Cultural night with Syrian, Iraqi, Palestinian and Belgian artists
The concert starts at 20.30 and is free and open to the general public. It will bring musicians - Syrians, Iraqis and Palestinians - who are refugees in Belgium and in Germany, to the centre stage, performing together with Belgian artists. Through three live concerts, the musicians will tell their stories as well as those of thousands of others separated from their home countries, highlighting their resilience and talent.
A photo exhibition by Johanna de Tessières and video screenings will take you to Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq, where you will meet Syrians, Lebanese, Jordanians and Iraqis who are navigating situations of war and conflict, personal loss and trauma with courage and determination and with the support of the European Union and its Member States, including of course Belgium. An artistic performance by Thomas Israël will take place throughout the event. Flagey's doors will open to the public at 19.30.
