The Hatter’s Ghost

Claude Chabrol

A small town is shaken by a killer who is strangling women. A tailor who spies on his neighbour, the hatter, finds that he is the murderer. Chabrol plays with the physical contrast between his two actors to develop the mesmerising fascination that one exerts over the other, as in Simenon’s novel.
