Fårödokument
Ingmar Bergman
Fårö, a small island in the Baltic Sea and Bergman’s adopted home, far from the wagging tongues of high society, was always an ideal location for his studies on human neuroses. He shot six films there, all major works (Persona, Hour of the Wolf, Shame...), and a documentary that was first released in 1969, with a follow-up version that came out ten years later. Place and artist are inseparable: the director passed away on the island in 2007.
