The body in the city: short films
The theme chosen for these shorts is “Body, Religion, City”, in anticipation of the Religion in the City festival to be held at Flagey on 22 and 23 February 2019.
We have a Belgian animated film classic by Gerald Frydman (Scarabus), a Kafkaesque journey in Absurdie. Les Corps étrangers, by Laura Wandel, looks at an amputee’s apprehension at being looked at by others. Poupées-poubelle by Violaine de Villers shows us the story of an art installation of about forty dolls made of rubbish in Namur’s Église Saint-Loup. L’occupation des sols by photographer Marie-Françoise Plissart shows us the city and its geometry as seen from above. The entire “The Body in the City” programme is a collaboration between La Cambre-Horta Faculty of Architecture, ULB Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Flagey, Cinergie and Cinematek.
