Signé Marcel Duchamp + Remontons à Dada

Sonuma

The Sonuma screenings continue, paying tribute to Marcel Duchamp on the 50th anniversary of his death. In addition, we will have the pleasure of seeing two films by Jean Antoine, a pioneer of Belgian television, considered one of the best television producers of the twentieth century.

Marcel Duchamp, one of the fathers of pop art, died in 1968, leaving behind a considerable legacy. In 1966, Jean Antoine met him in his studio in Neuilly, where he gave an enlightening interview on his work and personality. We go back to the origins of this artistic movement that night in February 1916 in the cafe Voltaire in Zurich... What is the ideology of this movement? What remains of it? This film was made to mark the 50th anniversary of Dadaism. The film features contributions from many first-hand witnesses – including Philippe Soupault – as well as from scholars.
