Are there too few nurses? There would seem to be no shortage of trainee nurses in Nicolas Philibert’s documentary, motivated by the ideal of service, the desire to help. A film about the learning experience, De chaque instant (Each and Every Moment) casts its gaze over the students, their first experiences in hospital, their fears, their hopes. From these observational tableaux emerges a moving and optimistic tribute to an admirable vocation.
