Oratorium zonder Doel

The village of 900 souls who lived in the shadow of the Doel nuclear power plant was sacrificed 50 years ago to Antwerp’s port expansion, when it was hastily expropriated before demolition. Now, half a century later, it has still not been demolished: the village is still standing, abandoned, a ghost town needlessly caught in the limbo of an ill-planned economic project.
