Ekho #3: From Palladio to Stradivari. Proportionality in architecture and violin making
FREE | Lecture by François Denis and Georges Pirson. Concert by Emmanuel Tondus.
Who better to speak about the history of the violin instrument than an instrument builder himself? For the occasion we invite the Frenchman François Denis, whose workshop is located in Angers in the Loire region. On stage, he is accompanied by Georges Pirson, professor of architecture and geometry at the Faculty of architecture of La Cambre Horta of the ULB. What secrets houses the violin with her perfect shapes and sizes? We come to know it all during this lecture, which is followed by a performance by Emmanuel Tondus on cello by Baroque and 20th century composers.
