Even Beethoven had his favorite composers and musical pieces. To him, Cherubini was ‘the greatest dramatic composer’ of his time, and his opera Faniska has been a big inspiration to Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. Mozart’s Piano concerto No. 20 in D minor also occupied a special place in Beethoven’s heart ever since he debuted as a young pianist in Vienna with it. For the occasion, Concert Olympique shares the stage with young star pianist Mariam Batsashvili, winner of the 2014 Franz Liszt Piano Contest in Utrecht.
