Pays de Gex, French-Swiss border. P.A. and his friends are in their last year of high school. One hundred metres beneath their feet, the LHC, the most powerful particle accelerator in the world, crashes protons into each other to recreate the energy conditions of the Big Bang and detect as yet unknown particles. As winter sets in and P.A. sees the world changing around him, he begins to observe strange phenomena, barely perceptible at first.
