Happy 2021!
Scintillating New Year’s concert with musical fireworks by Rossini, Offenbach and Strauss.
This concert will take place: without a live audience in the hall, but with a livestream. The stream will be available here on 8 January at 8pm.
The New Year is around the corner – and we are pleased to give it an extra boost! Enjoy a brilliant and scintillating New Year’s concert full of musical fireworks, with not only the great classic Johann Strauss and two great masters of the comic opera and operetta: Messrs Rossini and Offenbach. Cheers!
Jacques Offenbach is the father of the operetta: the unparalleled master of clever parodies and political allusions wrapped in swirling rhythms and gracious elegance. Rossini called Offenbach "the little Mozart of the Champs-Elysées".
Rossini also fits perfectly into this festive evening, as a bon vivant with a love of luxury, travel and good food (he was himself a fantastic cook). His catchy rhythmical music, exuberant and filled with vocal fireworks, conquered the world.
As are the great New Year’s classics, of course: the many joyful waltzes by Johann Strauss… With this music, you are sure to start off the new year full of hope and good cheer!
