Berg & Elgar

Many composers find inspiration for their music in their own lives. Brussels Philharmonic will perform some famous examples, such as Berg's heartbreaking Violin Concerto. The concerto, performed by the German violinist Veronika Eberle, has the subtitle “Dem Andenken eines Engels”. He completed the music shortly after the death of the daughter of his good friend Alma Mahler. Elgar's Enigma Variations also consist of fourteen musical portraits of the composer's circle of friends.
