Doors of Listening
At Doors of Listening, you will be surprised by a collection of doors in the middle of the forest. When you put your ear against them, you hear the songs, stories, memories and dreams of people on the run. This installation was created by sound artist Félix Blume in collaboration with residents of the Rode Kruis Opvangcentrum Pelt. In Klankenbos in Pelt, the residents of the centre take you with them into their personal stories and living environment. Together with sound artist and field recordist Félix Blume, they created a new permanent sound artwork: 'Doors of Listening'. In the middle of the forest looms a collection of doors, donated by a few villagers. Like a silent mass, the doors wait. During a participatory process spread out over various workshops, they were guided to express themselves through sound. They are literally given a place in the landscape and audibly claim their presence.
