The Tailor of Panama

John Boorman

A disgraced spy has a troubled relationship with a tailor whom he seeks to use as an informant, in this playful (comedy moments abound) and well-paced Le Carré adaptation. Boorman’s direction is as elegant as the performance of the ever-stylish Pierce Brosnan, who flirts with parodying his 007 character. Note also the rare appearance of Harold Pinter (his last on film), the most influential British playwright of his time.
