No fuss and noise, but music that prefers an inventive and expressive richness. Drummer Anke Verslype is the driving force behind aki - finalist in the Young Jazz Talent contest at the Ghent Jazz Festival - the ensemble with which she performs her own music. The combination of drums with harp, guitar and bass is unique and has already received a lot of praise for its unusual sound and refined solidity. For their JazzLab tour and first full-length album, aki will be joined by reed player Joachim Badenhorst.
