Lana Suran, Alexandre Chenorkian
The Sonata D. 894 by Schubert, which Schumann considered musically and formally 'the most perfect of all', is serene and gives hardly any hint of the composer's turbulent life. Lebensstürme, on the other hand, is full of turbulent passages and dramatic silences. The famous Third Impromptu of Opus 142 is a series of variations on the melody that the composer wrote for the play Rosamunde.
