Daniil Trifonov, Sergei Babayan

Teacher and pupil: Armenian-American pianist Sergei Babayan shares the Flagey stage with young Russian piano star Daniil Trifonov, who has become a true phenomenon in recent years. Since 2009, Trifonov has been specialising his piano mastery with Babayan, who calls his pupil 'a rare diamond'. Together, they will celebrate Rachmaninov's 150th birthday with his two famous Piano Suites and his Symphonic Dances, works that exude the composer's typical virtuosity and poetry.
