Mozart : Jupiter
Brussels Philharmonic
With his 41st symphony - nicknamed 'Jupiter' - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart put his last symphony on paper. Sick and penniless, Mozart nevertheless completed the work in record time, but died before he could hear it. The reference to the Olympic god was given later. And rightly so: because like Jupiter, the supreme god who rules the heavens, Mozart towers high above the symphonic world with this 41st.
