De Humani Corporis Fabrica
Véréna Paravel, Lucien Castaing-Taylor
Five centuries ago, anatomist Andreas Vesalius opened up the body to science for the first time. Today, De Humani Corporis Fabrica opens up the body to cinema. It shows us that human flesh is an extraordinary landscape that exists only through the eyes and attentions of others. As places of care and of suffering, hospitals are laboratories that connect all the bodies in the world.
