Sonic Tastings 18 | 19

Discover the String Quartet

Also this season, we welcome a number of string quartets in Flagey including the famous Artemis Quartett and a series of young promising quartets. It is now up to this new generation to follow in the footsteps of and to learn from the great quartets such as the Artemis Quartett.

To deepen the experience of a concert even more, Flagey invites her audience in advance on a sound tasting in which the art of het string quartet is discussed, giving the concert-goers 'listen keys’ to prepare for the concert afterwards. Musicians Julien Libeer, pianist in residence, Elsa de Lacerda, violinist of the Quatuor Alfama and cellist Benjamin Glorieux are the hosts and hostess of these tastings.

Every time, they invite an expert who examines the quartet from his/her own perspective. During the first sound tasting of 18/19, we test our sense of smell together with Marie-Anouch Sarkissian, pianist and expert in the connection between perfume and music.

This introduction is free on presentation of your ticket, but registration for the sonic tasting is required. First come, first served.
