Platoon

Based on his own experiences as a soldier in Vietnam, Oliver Stone’s loud and disturbing picture of a dehumanised war recalls Greek tragedy. It won Oscars and the Golden Globe, but divided the critics. The music is by Georges Delerue who arranged and adapted Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings.
