Javus Quartett
Emanzipation der Dissonanz
Groundbreaking, visionary... but always as a continuation of the romantic tradition. This is how Schönberg viewed the innovations he introduced into 20th-century music. In this concert, the young musicians of the Javus Quartett perform his Presto, the composer’s first steps in the string quartet form, written when he he was only 21. The Salzburg-based quartet, poised to conquer the international music scene, will combine Schönberg's youthful work with two renowned string quartets that perfectly balance tradition and innovation: Mozart's Dissonanzenquartett and Dvořák's American Quartet.
