David Murray Quartet

What better way to open the tenth edition of the Brussels Jazz Festival than with one of the most powerful tenor saxophonists of our time? Last year, David Murray once again demonstrated his "passionate brilliance" and enduring relevance at the festival, when he played alongside Kahil El'Zabar, according to Jazzwise. Now he returns on stage with his new quartet and their brand-new album Francesca (2024, Intakt Records). His colorful tone, perfect intonation, and strong improvisation remain present. Murray, who has played with all the greats in jazz history, is accompanied in his quartet by three young, talented musicians.
