Cuarteto Casals closes the String Quartet Weekend with Mozart's Fifteenth String Quartet, the second of the six quartets he dedicated to his good friend Joseph Haydn. Cuarteto Casals and Quatuor Van Kuijk then join forces to perform one of Mendelssohn's most iconic works: the Octet he wrote at the age of sixteen. The many polyphonic and fugal techniques perplexed his contemporaries. It is still one of the greatest chamber music works.
