Bach & Mendelssohn’s Double Concertos
Opening concert of Music Chapel Festival 2021
Johann Sebastian Bach is without doubt the composer whose music has been most often paraphrased, transcribed or arranged, even by himself. Bach's reconstructed Concerto for Oboe and Violin and the Concerto for Two Violins are wonderful examples of this. Bach was also one of Felix Mendelssohn's greatest sources of inspiration, as can be heard in his early Concerto for violin, piano and strings.
