Swiss pianist Beatrice Berrut is known worldwide for her surprising performances and the beautiful palette of colours she conjures up from the piano. After a number of very enthusiastically received albums with music by Beethoven, Liszt, Schumann and Bach, she dedicates her new album to Jugendstil, the art movement that was popular in Europe from 1890 onwards, with her own paraphrases and transcriptions of Verklärte Nacht by Arnold Schönberg and excerpts from Gustav Mahler's symphonies.
