Natacha Kudritskaya & Fabian Fiorini
Opus 111 : a unique synthesis
Opus 111, Beethoven's last piano sonata, may have been very complex music for the composer's contemporaries, but today it is one of Beethoven's favorite works. The sonata, Beethoven's musical testament, is both confronting and fascinating. Not only because of its virtuosity, but also the visionary way in which the composer handles rhythm. His music even moves jazz musicians. This concert offers a double interpretation of the sonata: on the one hand by the brilliant and passionate pianist Natasha Kudritskaya, and on the other by jazz pianist and improviser Fabian Fiorini. They fuse their interpretations into a highly original synthesis.
